Ok, I gotta admit, I LOVE this song... Big Sean is a Westside Detroit BEAST, Chris Brown is one the best singer/dancers doin it right now in this generation! So now you have a nice "remix" featuring a HOT freestyle from C-Breeze! I was TAD skeptical goin in, but then when he did his thing... he really did his thing!!! Breezy may not be the best rapper, but he shines on occasion! Check it out, this track is definitely worth a listen!

So What Does STYLEZ Think?

OK, I had to just take a deep breath... I was on Facebook and saw a couple people talking about this Ni--... well, individual, called Omarion... and his ridiculous notion that he should even BREATHE on this CLASSIC track by Jodeci! Now, I don't usually trip when (real) singers decide to remake songs. I mean, I think it's awesome when the youth take hold of something we enjoyed in the past and try to bring it to the forefront for their peers. I think it's (usually) an honorable thing! HOWEVER, back to this (ignorant, inconsiderate, tone-def) ... guy. Let's see, where do I begin with this "review":
1. his voice is HORRID on this song. I actually like Omarion (sometime), but his "singing" (or lack thereof) was ATROCIOUS!
2. the lyrics were JUST FINE before this ignorant M... clown a... uh, guy, decided to "change it up" and put his own little spin on it! I mean, where they do that at? Apparently in the back of Chris Stokes' pleasure palace... uh, I mean, studio (sorry, didn't mean to STOKE those fires on the uhhh, rumors! LOL!)
3. The video and audio are SUPER WACK! ... yea... NUFF SAID
4. Classics should be left alone when you don't know what the heck you're doing! I mean, it's one thing to one to pay homage, it's another when you just want to destroy something that didn't ask to be destroyed! Now little kids are going to be all confused and "liking" THIS garbage! SMDH!
What more can I say? Just this... Omarion leave well enough alone next time, your career is already in shambles, you are already suspect, just give it up and leave real music to the real musicians! HOLLA!

So I see this video, and this skinny, British chick is about to audition for X-Factor (its like another American Idol inspired show from Simon Cowell). They ask what song she is going to do, and she says...

So anyway, I keep watching and .... I REALLY advise you to watch the vid FIRST... BUT, seeing that this IS a blog (and a not a v-log where I can let you watch and then continue my entry) I just have to say...

IT WAS HOT!!! OMG! I couldn't believe how AMAZINGLY talented this chick is! She "seemed" nervous, but all that was hidden as she did a little 2-step down the stage and connected with the audience, Keri Hilson-style of course! LOL! But WOW! I must say, I think she has Keri BEAT! Her voice is AMAZING! Her confidence was A-1 and after all that, the crowd went BANANAS!!! And of course the 4 person panel started with the first three judges LAUDING her spectacular performance! But I'm going to make you watch to see Simon's crazy facial expression and stupefied stare, then SURPRISING response... uh... yea, GO WATCH NOW! Then comment!

After I heard bout this song I was skeptical. I mean, come on, Will Smith has some HUGE shoes to fill in the music, TV and movie biz! Jada has some pretty BIG shoes to fill on the movie and TV side too! Even little Jaden has started making his mark on the movie industry! But after hearing this I am a BELIEVER! Willow has a GREAT voice, confidence and of course a ROCKSTAR image! Now she has a HOT SONG to go with it! Take a listen and see if you agree! Bouncy, addictive and definitely a banger! You GO GIRL!

I love the vid... the dancing was great but the moves and shimmying definitely lends to the Ne-Yo (or definitely those two guys) is gay theory! LOL! But neither here nor there, the video was really good and well choreographed! Great job Ne-Yo! I'm enjoying the movie/episodic train of vids for this new album!

YA BOY KELLZ IS BACK!!!

Take THAT Trey Songz.... OK, maybe I just went TO FAR! BUT, I must say, THIS SONG, THIS SONG RIGHT HERE! THIS SONG RIGHT HERE Nnnn! Its THAT DEAL! I heard it a few days ago and was THOROUGHLY and UTTERLY impressed and felt like R. Kelly was doing his thing like he ALWAYS DOES... but its like he just stepped the R&B game BACK UP again! Its a classic love ballad, by only which R. Kelly can put it down these days! His voice is amazing and soulful! It tunnels its way into your heart, then JUMPS right back out! No doubt, one of his most beautiful in the past 2 or 3 years! ...

Review Break ... Sorry for all the CAPS folks, but DAMN, my big homie Kellz always brings the excitement back to R&B! Ok, back to your regularly scheduled music review!

Anyway, the video feels like a classic mix of vocal exhibitionism with a little old school class thrown in to make it top notch! I can't say it's better than Kanye's Power video, or groundbreaking by any stretch, but I must say, R. Kelly doesn't usually let us down when it comes to the videos! He usually comes with something innovative, or classy, or different ... or whatever! It always makes you want more!

Anyway, I can't wait to see what else Kelly has in store for us! I am sure it will be EPIC!

Still Standing by Monica

In the last couple weeks, I have been listening to a lot of mixtapes, a lot of rap music, and missing out on some of the mainstream or commercial music! LOL! "Missing Out"! Yeah right! But you know what I mean! Anyway, I decided to take my chances with a few new releases and ran across this latest offering from ATL's finest, Monica! It is entitled, Still Standing! Recently, she started a new reality TV show (of the same name) which I have also yet to watch, probably because I am so damn tired of EVERY star, has-been and in between getting a reality show! My LIFE is a reality show enough, with all the DRAMA I hear about or go through! But I digress!

Anyway, back to the music! So, Still Standing! I would like to say, IT'S FIRE! If you can say that about R&B! I love R&B so I was already excited to see one of R&B's most talented Princesses return to the game! At 15, in 1995, Ms. Monica was THE HOTTEST commodity in the game! And I would have to say, thought it is short with only 10 tracks, this latest offering definitely re-seals the deal that she is one of R&B's HOTTEST (and not just because at 30YO she is DA BOMB!).

So WHAT DOES STYLEZ THINK? I have to say I enjoyed 8 of the 10 tracks, and even the ones that weren't the best, they were tolerable! I commend her and her team for making great track selections that I felt maintained her youth, but without making her sound like she was trying to revert back to her style as a teenager! The tracks are lively, which is a direct contrast to Alicia Keys' latest, but still hold true to R&B without getting to much like Pop offerings! Nor does it stray to far into the Hip-Hop genre, even though the title track does feature ATL's adopted son Ludacris (please don't argue this point, he stated it hisself, he IS NOT originally from ATL, he's from Champaign, IL!).

Anyway, if you haven't already, get out and cop that STILL STANDING by Monica! I am sure you won't be disappointed!
